How to credit
On this page, you can find out how to give credit in your work to everyone that deserves it!
These ideas were written out for use by Mt. SAC students to be able to gain professional experience in working with established characters. These ideas were also created by Mt. SAC students. If you use these ideas, please share the credit to avoid plagiarism and credit theft.
So how do I do that?

In TV and animation there are two distinct writing credits;

“Story by.” - This credit is usually given to the people who have come up with the premise, outline, or summary of what is going to happen in an episode.
“Written by” - is a credit for the person who writes the script or makes the storyboard that tells the story. This is writing the dialogue (what is said), the scenes (how the plot is played out), and the individual actions (how everything is done).
For example:
Story by… “Ollie and his friends notice a beehive in the park. They notice that they’re surrounded by bees. Ollie reveals that he’s scared because he’s allergic to bees. Ollie and friends must protect Ollie from the bees until they can get inside.”
Written by… (see picture below)
If I don’t want to share credit or use any of these ideas, can I still use the characters?
If you’re a Mt. SAC student, then you may use the characters without using these ideas. These ideas are just to help you. What you cannot do is use the ideas without giving credit.
